Pascal 2302
Pascal 2302 is chestnut, with a handle that looks forged.
The leather is a rust-red chestnut that darkens along the edges, and a line of pale thread follows every seam. A brass hook on a stitched tab closes the front. Above it, a cast metal handle stands off the lid. It is rough and angular, closer to a twig of iron than to a conventional grip.
The end-on photographs show how it is fixed. The handle sits on an ornamental plate, with a pattern worked into the surface, and brass rivets hold the plate to the leather. The side photograph also shows a brass D-ring set into the gusset.
The case has a Hermann Oak Leather Co. tag hanging from it in one photograph. In that photograph it is standing among a group of cast metal animals with a green patina, which makes a strange and rather fitting pair of neighbors.
The edge of the flap is thick and finished smooth, and the stitching on the gusset runs in a clean double line.
