The classic brass English key lock and the Italian combination lock have become very hard to source. If you are ordering this briefcase with either one, reach out first to check — most likely it is no longer available.
It is a beautiful lock. It is just hard to get now.
My suggested alternatives are the Marcellino Latch or the quick-release latch found on my Woodhull briefcases. We can also use a single center buckle — or, on a double-strap case like the Wallace, skip the center lock entirely and let the buckles do the closing.

Description
The Alfred Wallace is a classic English briefcase style, made in the same way these cases were built over 100 years ago. All hand saddle stitched using authentic UK English bridle leather, removable shoulder straps and a high-end solid brass handmade lock that I install with strong real rivets. The brass key lock just gives it the authenticity of a classic English style. Comes with custom inside pockets, an outside pocket and either a natural lining or a full Italian calf suede lining.

While our standard calf suede lining offers a soft, refined finish for your essentials, we offer a more rugged alternative for those who demand ultimate longevity. Upon request, this briefcase can be lined with English bridle leather.
