William James 273 is a dark brown leather briefcase. Two straps with brass buckles run down the flap, a brass turn lock sits between them, and a black handle rises from the top between brass D-rings.

The back is plain apart from two straps in loops.

The first two photographs are the front and back. The third looks closely at the lock and a buckle, and the last lays the briefcase on its side to show the base, where a brass ring and a small chain hang.
