Paine 1012
Paine 1012 is blue, and the brass stands out against it.
The leather is a medium blue with dark edges. Two straps cross the flap and buckle at the front, each with a brass buckle, and a brass lock sits between them, small and round with a latch above it. The straps are the same blue as the body, and they run down over the front to a keeper below.
The case went on the bench at the shop for its photographs, with a blue hide spread beneath it and the hanging sign of JP Marcellino Bag Company of Huntington, NY on the wall behind. Tools and other cases line the shelf. Those pictures show the leather in warm light, and it goes closer to lavender.
Turn it over and the back carries a flat panel pocket, held with two stitched loops at the bottom. Open the flap and the lining is black, stitched, with the brass lock plate showing at the bottom from inside.
The top handle is a single stitched band, and from above it looks like a rolled bar.
