Newton 2024

Newton 2024 is blue, and the lining is a brighter blue.

I photographed this one on the bench in the shop, with a wall of hand tools behind it. The case sits on a slab of stone, which gives the pictures a workshop feel that the white-background studio shots do not have.

The blue leather has a visible grain and a mottled, hand-dyed look, darker along the edges and lighter across the flap. A round silver lock, set into the center of the front, replaces the hooks of the earlier Newtons.

The back carries a flat pocket panel, stitched on three sides. A short handle rises from the top.

Open the flap and the inside is a saturated sky blue with a smooth, suede-like finish.
