Newton 2023

Newton 2023 closes with a brass hook wrapped in leather.

The close-up photograph shows what the full-front view only hints at. The hook is brass, and a stitched strip of black leather is woven around it and pinned with a small brass stud, so the metal and the leather lock into one another. It takes more handwork than a plain hook on a tab.

The case itself is quiet. The flap is wide, the leather is black with a low sheen, and a leather handle rises from the top. At the shoulder-strap points, brass D-rings sit in short leather loops, and the black strap that goes with the case ends in brass clip hooks.

The side view shows the slim profile, and the flap-open photograph shows rivets on the underside of the flap and a brass ring at the corner of the body.
