Newton 2022

Newton 2022 is one design that I made in several colors.

The folder for this number holds five sets of photographs, one per leather: chestnut red, Fineo orange, light tan, a golden amber, and a version fitted with a new latch. In every set the shape is the same. A rounded flap comes down over a body with two stitched straps, and each strap carries a silver-toned hook. A short handle rises from the top.

Color does the talking. The chestnut red is a clear, saturated red that deepens near the edges. The Fineo orange sits between rust and tangerine. The light tan and the amber lean toward gold, and the stitching on them shows as a slightly deeper line.

Inside, the lining is black in every version, with a fine texture and stitched guide lines near the flap edge. Short colored tabs on the underside of the flap match the outside leather.
