Newton 2016

Newton 2016 is the glossy one.

The brown here runs close to burgundy in the highlights and close to chocolate in the shadows, and the surface is polished enough that the studio lights lie across the flap in long soft bands.

A brass hook closes the front, hung from a stitched tab. The handle on top is dark leather, set on the case with two small tabs. A patch of dark leather is stitched on the body, and on it, in white letters, MARCELLINO and below it New York. The close-up shows the stitching around the patch, which is hand work with a visible rhythm.

From the side the case is slim and the flap drops over the gusset in a smooth curve.

In the flat photographs the flap folds to one side and the hook hangs from its tab over the front.
