m15: Green Over Red, With a Chain

A dark green flap over a red body, a red strap down the middle, and a chain hanging from the side.

Two bridle leathers, one orange secret

UK English bridle leather, green on the flap, red below. One red buckle strap runs down the front, where another case would carry a lock. A red top handle sits above it. Open the flap and the lining is orange Italian calf suede, which nobody expects from a green case.

Size and strap

11 x 8 x 4 inches, with two 2 inch gussets and a divided interior. A shoulder strap clips on at the side rings, and a silver chain hangs at the side. Hand saddle stitching, late 2023.

On a stone patio

I set m15 on a black iron table on a stone patio, a stone wall and autumn trees behind it, with the red straps coiled beside it.

How it is made

The suede is real: see the suede lining page for why I use it instead of microsuede, and the care page for how to look after it.

The bridle leather is described on my leather page, and the journal explains it in What English Bridle Leather Actually Is, and Why Briefcases Are Cut From It.

The seams are hand stitched; see The Saddle Stitch Explained: Hand-Sewing Leather Step by Step for the method.
