m11: Green, Lime and a Tiger
The handle is the first thing anybody sees on m11. It is aged brass, cast as a tiger, and it stretches along the top of the dark green leather.
A sculpture you can carry
I think of this case the way a sculptor thinks of a plinth. The leather is the base, and the tiger is the piece. The leather is the quiet part. The tiger is the loud part.

Green and lime
The body is dark green UK English bridle leather. The gusset and strap are a vivid lime, a hard contrast. Inside, the lining is dark with a small slip pocket, set against the lime. A silver latch plate closes the front.
It is a single compartment, 10 x 7 x 4 inches, made in October 2023, hand saddle stitched.

In the shop
At the workbench with the flag behind it, and on the workshop mannequin, the lime strap shows as a stripe across the room.
By the pond
On a patio table and hanging from a tree over a pond, the lime strap lights up against green leaves.

How it is made
The latch is the Original Marcellino Latch, which I developed with attorney clients as a strong, quick alternative to a buckle.
The bridle leather is described on my leather page, and the journal explains it in What English Bridle Leather Actually Is, and Why Briefcases Are Cut From It.
The seams are hand stitched; see The Saddle Stitch Explained: Hand-Sewing Leather Step by Step for the method.
