Hale 2351

Hale 2351 is a slim flap briefcase in tan leather, with a nickel combination lock where another case would carry a buckle.

The lock is a round plate with a dial in its center, riveted to the flap, and it is the one bright object on the front. Everything else is leather: the rounded flap, the dark edges, a top handle that arches over the case.

Lift the flap and the interior is a pale suede, soft and matte against the smooth outside.

Shot straight on, from the side, and tipped onto its back, the case holds the same simple outline from every direction. That is what I was after.
