Durkheim 1483

Durkheim 1483 was photographed more than any other style in this group, seventy-one frames in all, and many of them were taken against whole hides hung on the wall of the shop.

The case itself is a bright orange-tan with brass buckles, a brass hook at the center and black edges around the flap. A leather handle sits on top between two rings.

The close-up of the hook shows a stitched keeper strap and the brass loop it holds. Lift the flap and the underside is a pale suede-like lining, with straps hanging from the front panel.

In the shop photographs the case sits on a metal stand, and the tanned hides behind it, one tan and one a deep red-brown, set the scale.
