Durkheim 1481

Durkheim 1481 is red-brown, the color of an old brick wall, and its hardware is nickel instead of brass. The metal reads cool against the leather.

Two buckled straps cross the flap. A center strap carries a long hook that catches the case below it, and a short handle stands on top. The shoulder strap lies coiled at the base in the studio photograph, with a ring at its end.

Outdoors it looks different. Set on gray rock beside a patch of snow, the leather brightens to a hot red where the light hits it, and goes nearly black in the shade.

The photographs below move between the studio, the rocks and a wooden doorway.
