Newton 2014

Newton 2014 is a tan case with a black outline.

The leather is a warm tan with the cloudy variation that natural hide shows when the surface is left alone. A thin black line follows the edges of the flap and the body, so the shape is drawn in dark ink around a light field. In the front view, the brass hook rides on a stitched tab and carries the only metal on the face.

Brass D-rings sit on both sides, and the side view shows how the ring is held on a short stitched tab of the same tan leather. A black handle stands up from the top, held at each end by a small leather tab.

Open the flap and the inside is a pale, unfinished tan, with stitched tabs on its underside.

The strap in the last photograph is worth a look. It is wide where it crosses the shoulder, and a JP logo is stamped into it with the words Handmade in NY, followed by the name of the company.
