Hawthorne 2526

Hawthorne 2526 is a black flap briefcase with two brass buckle straps and a brass combination lock between them.

The lock is the part worth a closer look. A square brass plate with a numbered dial, set into the leather with a border of hand stitching, and a key shaped like a small gear that turns it.

The back is as plain as the front is busy. Two leather keepers sit near the bottom to hold the straps, and a top handle rises from above them.

On the side, a D-ring is stitched in for a shoulder strap. Open the flap and the straps fall away from the lock, leaving the interior in plain view.
