Fremont 125

Fremont 125 is a flap briefcase in natural tan leather, closed with a single strap and a brass buckle.

The leather is left its own color. No dye, no finish to hide behind, so the stitching and the edges do all the talking. Brass rivets hold the top handle in place, and the same brass shows up again at the buckle and on the D-rings set into each side.

The shoulder strap is separate. It hooks onto those D-rings with brass clips and comes off just as easily, which leaves the case looking clean when the strap is not needed.

Lift the flap and the underside is rough-finished, a different texture from the smooth outside. I made this one years ago, and it still looks like a plain object that was built carefully.
