McCarty 1540
McCarty 1540 is a black briefcase with a brass hook on the front.
The leather is black and the edges are left natural, so a thin tan line runs around the flap and down both sides. I like that line. It outlines the case the way a pencil traces a shape before any color goes in.
A brass hook sits at the center of the front, paired with a stitched leather tab. Nothing else breaks up the face of the case. The metal is the only decoration, and it is doing a job.
On top there is a single leather handle held with brass rivets. Each side carries a brass D-ring, riveted in place, so a strap can clip on when the handle is not enough.
The back is a flat black panel with a line of stitching near the edge and nothing else on it.
